Are you one of those people who lives in fear of what meats make up the contents of a hot dog? No? Just me? Well, regardless of if you’re a liar or not, (you are) I have a restaurant that will make all your hot dog fears a thing of the past. I must admit I approached this place with trepidation because mystery meats have never been my thing but, for you guys, I powered through those fears. For those of you who are hot dog fans, let me introduce you to Das Haus Biergarten.
First, upgrade to the bratwurst, no questions just do it. I went with the “SOOO CALI” dog; wild arugula, spicy basil aioli, crispy onions, avocado, tomato. The ingredients were so fresh, the brat was grilled to perfection and the bun was impeccably toasted. I want to take a moment just to talk about the bun; I could honestly eat 37 of those toasted buns straight and regret nothing. Each flavor complimented the other so flawlessly that eat bite was like destroying something beautiful.
Full disclosure this is not a first or even second date spot due to the mess that will ensue as soon as you take a bite. However, if you’re with a friend or a girl who you’ve already heard fart and the mystery is gone, check it out. In addition to their amazing food, they have a great late night happy hour and beer selection.
