Huffpost – Last we checked, ice cream is supposed to melt if it isn’t kept chilled.
But Walmart’s store-brand ice cream sandwiches don’t even melt in the sun, according to a report from WCPO Cincinnati.
The discovery was made by a local mom, Christie Watson, who noticed that a Great Value ice cream sandwich her son left out on their patio table hadn’t fully melted — even though it had been sitting out for 12 hours on an 80-degree day. Watson left a second ice cream sandwich out overnight with the same results, WCPO reports.
“What am I feeding to my children?” she asked, appalled.
So this mom of the year feeding her kids generic ice cream sandwiches from Walmart is appalled they didn’t melt fast enough in the sun? Do tell more!
Okay now I don’t have any kids of my own yet and am no expert on child rearing but I am going to take a leap here and say anything labeled “Great Value” from Walmart is gonna be some shit. I mean the odds are that even if this sandwich was digested by her child it would look the same coming out as it did when they jammed it down their gullet. If this outrages you that much then maybe next time pay the extra 14 cents for the real thing.
Now all that being said I get it lady. It’s costly to feed a bunch of kids that obviously wasted the cheap food you bought anyway by leaving it out in the sun so why would you buy them the nice brand. Kind of makes sense to be honest. Then again if you do the bulk of your food shopping at Walmart you are pretty much giving up on their health anyway. I mean if you said the Target brand did this I will cut you some slack but as soon as Walmart comes out of your mouth you lost me.
All this being said there’s a slight chance that Walmart may be the first company to create ice cream that defeated the sun. Jury is still out on this one folks…
