Coors Field & More- Colorado

Before I start I feel as though I should make it clear that I’m still a loyal Philadelphia sports fan however; when I heard you could get Rockies tickets for $8, I felt it was time to get to know my local team.  What I immediately loved about Coors Field is the location, unlike most stadiums; Coors field is in the middle of downtown Denver.  This means you have a variety of awesome bars, restaurants and breweries within walking distance no uber needed.

Now while 8 dollar tickets are amazing to get into a Sports Ball game, the location is not ideal. They call it “The Rockpile”; it’s a section of cement bleachers with zero shade in the middle of the outfield. It was awesome because I got learn about new fun areas of my body that get uncomfortably sweaty. Our group lasted for a grand total of 5 minutes before seeking shelter from the sunlight.  Luckily we managed to snag a spot behind home plate and eventually managed to grab some abandoned seats.

Since Colorado has ton of breweries the selection of beer within the stadium is top notch. They still have basics like Coors (obvi) and Bluemoon but they also have a decent beer selection for a Sports ball game.  After the game we decided to venture down the street on a mission for chicken wings we let our hearts guide us.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw a rooftop bar that I needed to be a part of so we walked into “Hayter’s & Co” and headed upstairs.

The upstairs is actually a Beer Garden called “Tap Fourteen” and it is legit AF.  The rooftop views are amazing, cornhole is on point and food was delicious. We ordered wings, pretzels, pulled pork and pork shoulder. I can say with confidence, I died and went to smoked meat heaven. Their beer selection complemented the wing sauce so perfectly it was like a romantic flavor dance.  If you’re outdoorsy in the sense that you like to drink on patios, this is the spot for you.
