News – “El Garoppolo Loco? 49ers invest in fast-food chicken” – As the San Francisco 49ers’ 0-8 record isn’t exactly helping to fill seats at Levi’s Stadium, it makes sense that the team leadership is looking for other ways to boost revenue.

So what besides unproven backup quarterbacks are Niners bosses putting their money in? Fast-food chicken.

But not well-known chicken franchises like KFC, Chick-fil-A, Popeye’s or El Pollo Loco.

According to Eater, the Niners have bought a piece of the Organic Coup, a more upscale chain that boasts of a “95-percent USDA certified” organic menu, featuring a variety of grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches and salads. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

The chain, which opened its first store in Pleasanton in 2015, has 11 locations in California, including six in San Francisco. The seventh is scheduled to open at 1st and Market streets (455 Market) on Nov. 21.

Out-of-state branches are coming soon to the Seattle area.

As a Niners’ fan I don’t really have much to say about this…at all…sandwich looks good though
