mcall.com – As New York moves to mandate that all public colleges set up student food banks, a growing number of Pennsylvania’s state universities are tackling the issue on their own.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during his recent State of the State address, announced he wants 24 city university and 64 state university schools to offer food pantries or other ways to make sure students don’t go hungry. He wants to commit $1 million to the effort.
A recent report called Hunger on Campus, which was prepared by several national campus organizations, found 48 percent of survey respondents experienced food insecurity in the previous 30 days.
Another dope ass story , I said it already but 2018 is off to a pretty good start (food news wise….food news wise…lol)
