News – “Steven Spielberg Has Asked A Fast Food Chain To Stop Selling ‘SpielBurgers'” – Steven Spielberg has asked fast food chain Carl’s Jr not to rename one of their burgers “SpielBurgers” – insisting that while they may taste quite “good….you can’t do it, sorry guys”.

It comes in response to an initiative taken by the American restaurant to jump on the bandwagon, and pay homage to the legendary filmmaker, for the release of his latest film Ready Player One.

Unveiling their idea on Twitter, Carl’s Jr said, in honour of Ready Player One, and “as a tribute to the best director ever, we’re changing the name of our Charbroiled Sliders to .”

“Spielberg hasn’t signed off yet, but we’re pretty sure he’ll be down with it,” it tweeted – along with a promotional video awash with references to ET, Jurassic Park and Jaws.

But Spielberg has since rejected the collaboration, shutting down the project after deciding he wasn’t actually ‘down with it’.

“They’re pretty good but I’m passing,” he explains in a video posted by his production company Amblin Entertainment, “cease and desist, you can’t do it. Sorry guys.”

Hmmm, no word from Spielberg yet. Sure hope he’s cool with it. We pretty much spent our whole marketing budget on #SpielBurgers

Sheesh! I appreciate the confidence and basically just Carl’s Jr shooting their shot wild crazy but damn man maybe not blow that budget before the homie Spielberg even confirms anything.
