nydailynews.com – Social media sizzled on Monday after fast food giants took exception to IHOP’s new “IHOb” marketing campaign.
The newly-named “International House of burgers” angered its neighbors by stepping into the lunch and dinner realm, adding a collection of seven new “Ultimate Steakburgers.”
Wendy’s struck first Monday morning with a tweet aimed directly at IHOb and its new name and dishes.
“Remember when you were like 7 and thought changing your name to Thunder BearSword would be super cool?” the chain posted. “Like that, but our cheeseburgers are still better.”
Red Robin shared a mocking message of its own, posting that it’s “as serious about pancakes as @IHOb is about burgers.”
White Castle joined in on the fun, sarcastically tweeting its own “announcement.”
“We are excited to announce that we will be switching our name to Pancake Castle.”
The higher ups at “IHOb” really thought they were killing it with this idea, even teased the roll out…and come out and get completely roasted. Deservedly so, i’m going to have to send White Chris (he’s the only one that will eat a burger from there) in there for some recon and to give us a review of this bullshit. They’ve seriously been getting flamed for like 13 hours straight on twitter and its amazing.
Stick to what you know man or at least keep it in the same realm..
