On Wednesday, a new standalone Chick-fil-A restaurant will open in the parking lot of the Merritt Square Mall — just a few hundred feet from where an existing Chick-fil-A is part of the center’s food court. While some towns pine away for years hoping to get just one of the popular chicken eateries, Merritt Island will have two almost within sight of each other.
The address for the new standalone Chick-fil-A is 785 E. Merritt Island Causeway. The other is located at 777 E. Merritt Island Causeway, Suite 164, in the mall’s food court. That’s pretty darn close.
“The food court Chick-fil-A will remain open, at least for the foreseeable future. That means on Merritt Island the Chick-fil-A tray, at least for a period, will runneth over,” FloridaToday.com reported. “The new Chick-fil-A, 785 E. Merritt Island Causeway is just outside the mall’s main entrance of what previously was the location of a TGI Fridays.”
In at post on Chick-fil-A’s restaurant blog, called The Chicken Wire, it noted, “Chick-fil-A Operator Kersh Peterson is excited to serve the Merritt Island Community soon!” Residents were invited to camp out at the new location to be one of the first 100 to be served — earning free Chick-fil-A food for a year.
According to the company website, Chick-fil-A only opens a limited number of restaurants each year.
I was all set to make fun of this buuutttttt anyone that has seen the horror of a Chick Fil A drive thru line around dinner time would agree this is great…you see that line wrapped around the building of one of the delicious chicken establishments? Just hit the other one across the street.
