Hawthornes Beer Cafe is closing down 11th Street again for the Great Harvest Cider and Beer Festival on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. This annual beer and cider festival will feature over 75 hard ciders, toasty lagers, pumpkin ales and more. Look for a dozen food trucks serving up street food, signature bites and fall comfort food. Festivities will also include a family fun zone, apple-bobbing competition, pie eating contest, live entertainment, DJs and much more. This all-day, all-ages free block party takes place on 11th street in front of Hawthornes, from Fitzwater to Catharine. Cash only. All ages welcome, but twenty-one and older with identification to drink.

Philadelphia, PA – Hawthornes Beer Cafe (738 S. 11th) celebrates the return of fall with the 3rd Annual Great Cider and Beer Festival on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. With the crisp, cool air moving in, Hawthornes will close down 11th Street from Fitzwater to Catherine, and showcase over 50+ seasonal beers, new and favorite ciders, barrel-aged rarities and wine selections pouring for only five dollars each. Look for a full line-up of Philadelphia’s top food trucks to serve warm comfort food for one of the final outdoor festivals of the fall season. On top of food and drink, enjoy live music, entertainment , vendors, pie eating contest, shopping and free family fun! The event is free and open to the public, and rain or shine. Live music and entertainment includes River Bones Band, The Chris Rozik Band and Heaven Man. Music starts at Noon and runs through the end of the festival!


For the kids, enjoy family fun in the Kids’ Zone – perfect for young families who want to make it a day in South Philly. Activities will include inflatable slides, giant bubble wand, other bubble fun, chalk fun, bean bag toss, and more.


New for 2018, enter to win $100 cash prize in the pumpkin and apple pie eating contest.  Contestants can register by emailing janec@hawthornecafe.com. Pies will be made in house, and the contest will be held in the Kiddie Play Area.


Guests will be required to show valid I.D. upon FREE entry at 11th and Fitzwater and receive a wristband. The beer sales are handled exclusively at the entrance (at 11th & Fitz) where the guest will purchase any amount of drink tickets for $5 per ticket, no minimum, no limit. Then the guests are free to redeem each ticket at any beer station to receive the beer of their choice.

The event is open to all ages, 21 and older to drink. Dogs welcome too! Rain or shine. Admission is free. All drinks and food are pay-as-you-go. Cash only.
