News – “Man tries to buy meal for police officer; gets charged with impaired driving”

halifaxtoday.caA man is facing impaired driving charges after trying to buy a meal for an RCMP officer.

Just before 2 a.m. the officer was grabbing a quick bite to eat at a Bedford Highway drive-thru when the driver of the car in front of them offered to pay for the order.

“When the officer got out to explain to the driver that they appreciated the offer but would not accept it, they observed the driver displaying signs of impairment,” said Mounties in a news release.

Police say a breath test showed the driver was more than twice the legal limit.

The 42-year-old from Lower Sackville has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg%.

LOL Damn man, you try to do something nice and end up with a DUI for your troubles. That’s why I live by the philosophy of “Mind your damn business when you’re in a drive thru at 2 am”
