Earl Jethroe, 59, of Marrero walked into the Popeyes located at 7100 West Bank Expressway just after 3:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 30) and ordered a meal from the fried chicken restaurant, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the department.
Jethroe apparently took issued with the condiments provided by employees, the report indicates. Jethroe’s arrest report makes no mention of reason for his sauce dissatisfaction – whether he hadn’t received enough or if he’d requested a different flavor.
But the manager allegedly refused Jethroe’s request to make amends for the perceived condiment shortcoming, according to JPSO. That’s when Jethroe threw his chicken across the counter, pulled a pistol from his waistband and pointed it at the manager, the arrest report said.
Jethroe didn’t fire the weapon, and no one was injured. He then left Popeyes and walked over to the neighboring Church’s Chicken, Rivarde said. Deputies arrived and found him inside the restaurant, yelling, the report said. They noted Jethroe smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.
- What a headline 2. We for the most part at Just Grubbin believe in hearing both sides and I’ve said it before that I can understand being a little pissed off if your food gets messed up or your condiments are missing but damn man it should never get to punches being thrown….AND DEFINITELY shouldn’t lead to guns being pulled…I guess you can expect that from someone named Jethroe though that smells of booze
