The ‘hole-iest’ food holiday of the year is getting a new date thanks to Thomas’® Bagels, the largest producer of grocery store bagels in the U.S.! After years of watching National Bagel Day share the spotlight with National Pizza Day, Thomas’ hosted a poll where hundreds of bagel lovers across the country “hole”-heartedly voted in favor of changing the date and giving the iconic breakfast staple its very own day of appreciation.
January 15 has officially been declared the new annual celebration of National Bagel Day! While people will always appreciate the sauce, crust and cheese on a delicious slice of pizza, bagels are done sharing the spotlight. Plus, pizza wasn’t even invented until 1889 whereas the bagel can trace its roots (or dough!) back to 1610!
Thomas’ will celebrate this milestone with a one-of-a-kind pop-up event in Philadelphia that should not be missed! Fans can head to 30th Street Station from 7 AM to 2 PM on Tuesday, January 15 where Thomas’ will be giving away free bagels to everyone who stops by. Bagel-lovers can also check out a giant bagel wall for the perfect Instagram moment and a larger-than-life Thomas’ toaster where fans will be able to actually ‘pop’ out and grab an epic GIF or photo to share with friends!
We’ll see you on January 15th, bagel lovers!
