Following the journey of a young drug addicted Nic Sheff (Timothee Chalamet) and his father David Sheff (Steve Carell) This amazing movie “A BEAUTIFUL BOY”, is based solely on the true story penned by David Sheff himself, brought to life by Felix Van Groeningen and it’s seen through the eyes of the father and the affliction Nic’s addiction causes on him and his family. The performances in this movie are well past the word LEGENDARY , and true to heart. SUPERB, with Chalamet bringing yet another impressive performance. Carell is strong as the role of Nic’s dad and delivers a career highlight performance seriously one for the ages! Groeningen’s put together a masterpiece, great direction and extremely powerful. Realistic and choice of style contrasting elements of past euphoria with the lows of drug abuse help enable the audience to feel the impact of addiction.
This film is impressive and a must see for anyone who thrives on real stories and drama.
The best performance by Steve Carell so far (standing by for “Welcome to Marwen” which also looks like a performance triumph for the actor) can’t wait to see that! I was drawn to the screen from beginning to end and this one could be felt by anyone. If it hits home or not, you become one with this family and you are drawn to feel their pain through ups and downs! A solid 5 for this movie, the burgers are flipping and got the mouth watering. This is a must see. See the life that unfolds and takes turns that will have your heart sinking. A possible tear jerker so just be warned!!! Please go and see this movie and see what many families have to go through all across this nation and open your heart for the pain that needs to be healed.
