New York, NYNovember 21, 2019 –  The milestone 20th Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square, New York’s largest holiday festival, produced by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District (LSBID), returns  Monday, December 2, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Many of New York City’s most popular restaurants and eateries located in the Lincoln Square area will line the sidewalks offering savory samples, delectable desserts, hearty soups, hot drinks and signature dishes for a nominal cost ($1-$4). The tastings will be held under tents in front of The Shops at Columbus Circle, along Broadway between 62nd and 64th Streets, and at Richard Tucker Park on Broadway between 65th and 66th Streets.

Winter’s Eve was created two decades ago by the LSBID to kick off the holiday season by spreading cheer, while also promoting local businesses and restaurants. Fast forward 20 years later, and Winter’s Eve has grown into a New York City staple and tradition. The highly-anticipated holiday festival is expected to attract more than 25,000 revelers to the Lincoln Square area of the Upper West Side including music enthusiasts, families, and foodies.

This year’s dishes are as diverse as New York City itself. As locals and visitors enjoy the festivities throughout the evening, revelers can also enjoy North African-Spiced Pumpkin Soup from Boulud Sud, Mini Cheeseburgers from P.J. Clarke’s, Tuna Handroll from Bar Masa, Ricotta Gnocchi with Truffle Cream Sauce from The Smith, Rosa Mexicano’s famous Guacamole with Chips, and more.

Looking for something sweeter? Try a warm Apple Cinnamon Doughnut paired with decadent Hot Chocolate from Tavern on the Green, classic Banana Pudding from Magnolia Bakery, and Bouchon Brownies from Bouchon Bakery, just to name a few of the many desserts available throughout the evening.

Food is certainly not the only thing to enjoy at Winter’s Eve. The holiday celebration will feature more than 20 free live performances, multicultural dance troupes, strolling circus performers, ice sculpting and family fun. The event takes place in public spaces, in select indoor venues and along the sidewalks of Lincoln Square, the gateway to the Upper West Side, from Columbus Circle to 70th Street – on and around Broadway. This year’s headliner, rock icon Ronnie Spector and The Ronettes, will kick off Winter’s Eve with the traditional lighting of Lincoln Square’s Upper West Side holiday tree, hosted by Jawan M. Jackson from Ain’t Too Proud.
